3-6 Experiences
Third through Sixth Grade meets on Sundays from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. and Tuesdays from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.
Third Grade
Goal: Students will be able to connect the Jewish people’s historical bond with Eretz Yisrael, the State of Israel.
Overview: The third-grade year begins our midweek integrated program. Students embark on decoding Hebrew and engage in the study of Israel.
Fourth Grade
Goal: Students can connect the stories from the Book of Exodus and their contribution to Jewish life and study the Hebrew language.
Overview: Students continue investigating the Jewish past, holidays, and values and developing their Hebrew reading and decoding skills.
Fifth Grade
Goal: Students will be able to apply the practical benefits of mitzvot to their everyday lives.
Overview: Fifth-grade students study Hebrew through prayer, mitzvot, and Jewish ethics, allowing students to explore such concepts as derech eretz (appropriate behavior), tzedakah (righteousness, including charity), and rachmanut (compassion).
Sixth Grade
Goal: Students will learn more about their family’s genealogy and deepen their connection to mitzvot.
Overview: Sixth graders continue our midweek program building their prayer reading and comprehension skills, exploring their family’s past, and continuing to explore derech eretz (appropriate behavior), tzedakah (righteousness, including charity), and rachmanut (compassion).
