As I complete my second year here at Temple Sinai, I’ve realized that a tremendous amount has changed recently. I’m sure you’re all familiar with the changes to the Kaplen Sanctuary and the Taub Family Social Hall; there’s a big blue tarp in the parking lot heralding the arrival of renovated and expanded restroom facilities as well.
But what you may or may not have realized is that Temple Sinai has also been implementing a phased strategy regarding our communications. Since September 2017, we’ve completely redesigned Temple Sinai’s graphics and branding, including the logo, colors, and sub-logos for the Early Childhood Center, Religious School, Brotherhood, Sisterhood, and Renaissance.
We have upgraded our website to a new WordPress site and applied the completed brand elements to our new site, which should now be the first place you go for information and updates about all our events and activities. We’ve applied this same graphic consistency to our emails, flyers and other materials.
Reflecting email best practices, we are now segmenting most of our messages. All members should be receiving our weekly newsletter, the Temple Sinai Weekly, now being sent on Wednesdays, with more targeted and detail-oriented emails being sent to specific audiences. Additionally, Temple Sinai (and the Early Childhood Center) is now active on Facebook (facebook.com/TempleSinaiBC/; facebook.com/TempleSinaiECC/), another great way to keep up with our events and learn more about your fellow congregants and the Jewish world outside our Temple walls.
Rest assured, we will continue to publish the Sinai Sentry—though mostly in electronic format. If you would like to continue to receive a paper version, please email us. We’re working to set the standard for comprehensive communications from a synagogue; to make sure that whether we send you a letter, an email, or a tweet, you know that there’s a genuine reason for you to read, watch, or listen to that message.
